Written by For the conference championships yesterday, I decided to try making hot wings. I followed the Hooters recipe and was really surprised how good they were. Perhaps I’ll give shrimp a try next? Molly wasn’t too enthused about the hot ones, so I kept three of them out of the sauce. Good stuffs!

Dallas Mustangs B/C swim meet
Molly swam in the Dallas Mustangs B/C short course (yards) meet this weekend. She swam 100 IM, 100 Free, 200 Free, 100 Breast and 50 Fly. It was her first time for the 200 Free and she did well. She dropped time from every event, including seven seconds from the 100 free time. We’re waiting on official results to she how she did overall. It was a grueling meet as far as distance and number of events, but we’re very proud of her. Wade came to spectate and Patrick Henry was there coaching his time and came up a few minutes to chat.
traxxas bandit vxl – remote control xmas present to myself
Fast forward 24 years and I’ve finally fulfilled that dream, albeit on my own. Enter the Traxxas Bandit VXL: a ready to run 1/10 scale buggy capable of 45 MPH out of the box. Before I could take it to a field and give it the shakedown, I tested it in the back yard. Ran into the fence and busted a wheel….oops! Had to order some more front wheels. When they came in Molly and I were ready to rock.
There’s a public park over here that Molly has practiced with her soccer team several times even though it really isn’t an ‘official’ practice field…but the dormant grass and flat expanse is the perfect training ground for us to hone our skills. So far we’ve gone through two battery cycles which are about a half hour each. Molly is really good at driving it and we have so much fun. Now we need to buy more batteries and a peak charger so charges are only 45 minutes instead of 8 hours.

Lunar eclipse last night and 80+ degrees today…so much for winter and the solstice!
