self vindication – dallas mavericks 2007

I officially gave up on the Mavericks after the finals last year…that was the last straw for me. The first being the roll-over that happened after the 2000 season when they came out to start the season with 15 straight wins and lead the league at the all-star break. They didn’t want it bad enough then, nor in the finals last year against the Miami Heat, nor do they want it now against Golden State. Congratulations Dallas Mavericks, you have just set a world record for the biggest upset in the history of basketball. Tonight’s game – game 6 is only the second game I’ve watched, not counting the pre-season game Wade took us to. It makes the embarrassment much more tolerable as I gave up on them last year. I think I’ll pull for the Phoenix Suns now…despite my Texas loyalty and all the sports columnists citing the Spurs recent success.
