The 2008-2009 school session is in full swing.  Molly got a great teacher and reunited with some classmates from her kindergarten year that are in her second grade class now.  Lindsay has quite the diverse class but seems upbeat that the kids will behave much better than last year.  Molly loves to ride the bus in the morning and has been doing an excellent job of getting herself up and ready for the day.

Today was field day at Molly and Lindsay’s school. A great time was had by all. Sadly - Lindsay’s class did not win tug-of-war. Here are the pictures.

Lindsay got sick last week - a bad case of strep throat and a sinus infection. She went to the doctor and got some antibiotics and seems to be doing well now. She and Molly are entering the seventh week of school. I can’t believe how fast it is going. Molly loves it! Last week, she was the first person in her class to take home her class pet (a stuffed tarantula named Travis.) She got to take care of it for one night. Lindsay sent out progress reports last week. Soccer is going well for Molly - she has a game Wednesday night.

I did a little home improvement project yesterday. I’ve had a pair of outdoor speakers since I bought my stereo and haven’t put them up since we moved out of the apartment. To avoid running wires all over the place, I was able to drop speaker wire from the attic down the hole that the cable to our living room ran. I hooked them up to a special outlet that has speaker connections and have it all connected in the spot the cable came out (while still maintaining the cable) and drilled two hole in the ceiling of our back patio. I then connected the speakers and mounted them. Now we have outdoor music to listen to while sitting on the patio enjoying the cool fall evenings. Neat! I may take some pictures to post since I’m pretty proud of my work.
